17 of our finest triathletes rose to the challenge of The Stirling student aquathon and aquabike.
The morning started with louisa taking on a 400m swim and 16k cycle around the beautiful Stirling countryside. After a strong swim swim she took on the cold and wet cycle finishing second senior female (4th female overall) well done Louisa !
Next up was the female aquathlon, racing for eutri; Eilidh, Miriam, Rachael, Hanna, kim, Ella, Katy and Catherine! All had a very strong swim even with some dodgy overtaking from other competitors, which we were not phased by! With some lightning fast transitions (Eilidh getting through T1 in 15.1s) the girls were off for the slippery 4.5k run. The sprint to the finish was greeted by our fans, giving everyone the boost they needed.
A massive well done to Eilidh for securing 2nd place overall and winning the team event along with Rachel and Hanna!
Next up was the guys event. representing EuTri: Ollie, Lewis, Harry, Max, Seb, Jack, Rob and Dan. Sadly (not sadly ) we lost Patrick to the devil club that is the university of Saint Andrews.
All the guys produced great times In both the swim and the run. Ollie was the first from edi to finish the swim, having no problem in transition and straight onto the track. Ollie went on to post the fastest run of the event securing a gold medal! the next edi triathlete through the line was lewis. he fought hard in the run, overtaking 4 people to land himself third place!
Well done to Ollie, Lewis and Dan for winning the team event (Dans first ever aquathlon)!
A notable mention to everyone who completed their first ever aquathlon!
(Also, happy birthday to coach and alumni Dechlan Wilson, who took a mega 2nd in the adult race!)
